| Senior Farmers Market Program West CAP is one of several organizations in Wisconsin taking part in an innovative effort to help low-income seniors purchase fresh food directly from farmers. The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will provide free vouchers to qualifying seniors to be used in purchasing fresh produce directly from certified farmers markets, road side stands, and community supported agriculture farms. Seniors over the age of 60, with incomes up to $22,089 for two person households or $16,391 for single households, will qualify for the program. Each participating senior will be able to receive $25 in coupons during the growing season. This program works closely with all Dept. of Aging Units, senior meal sites, housing authorities, county Extension offices, social service agencies, and local food pantries.
