Working in partnership with other programs and organizations:
West CAP’s Emergency Shelter grant helps clients in many communities through partnerships with existing programs. With these partners, West CAP case managers help clients faced with homelessness receive short-term assistance and supportive services. Partners include Teen Care Runaway Youth program (Barron, Chippewa, Dunn, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix Counties); House of Hope Homeless Shelter (Dunn County); Bridge to Hope Domestic Abuse Shelter (Dunn and Pepin Counties); Turning Point Domestic Abuse program (Pierce County); Barron County Domestic Abuse project Transitional Unit.

Community partnerships ensure the best use of resources and better assistance to clients. One such example is the St. Croix County Self-Sufficiency Coalition. This collaboration includes West CAP, Salvation Army, Operation Help, and St. Croix County Human Services. Another example of the positive impact from community partnerships took place in Barron County (http://www.co.barron.wi.us), where the Family Services Specialist established a partnership with food pantries, churches, and local volunteers to donate furniture, food and supplies and help maintain the transitional housing unit.
